A SINGLE
CHRISTIAN’S PRAYER (I JOHN 3:22)
Dear Lord,
I want to say thank you for all the wonderful blessings
that you have bestowed upon me,
And I humbly come to you asking for one more.
Lord, please bless me with a spouse.
I read in your Word that “It is not good for man to be
alone.”
Honestly, Lord, I don’t like being alone.
I pray that while I wait for this blessing
That you will grant me the faith and patience to wait
for the one You have for me
And that I do not try to take control and pick my own
mate.
Please keep me mindful to your commands on how I am
supposed to date as your child.
I ask for courage and strength to resist the physical
temptations that are at my door daily
Lord, I pray that you grant me wisdom, so that I will
not turn away your blessing when You send it
That I may constantly look at others through your eyes
and with your values, not the worlds’.
Remind me often Lord, that looks and material goods mean
nothing. That the spirit alone endures.
Also, I ask for tolerance, compassion, understanding,
and the ability to forgive
So that all of my relationships, not just my marriage,
will prosper.
Lord, I ask for a humble spirit, one that is in greater
submission to your Divine wisdom
That I may learn to want what I need and know the
difference between my wants and needs.
And a grateful heart, because I know you will supply all
of my needs.
Please help me to stay mindful to put you first in all
things.
I humbly ask for closure, forgetfulness and forgiveness,
of all of my past relationships
So that I don’t bring any past hurts into my marriage
and punish my spouse for crimes they did not commit.
Lastly, Lord, I would like to once again say thank you.
Thank you for my loving, Spirit filled spouse.
Thank you for blessing me with the one I needed and who
loves me for me. Thank you for loving me and all of the
incredible mercy that you have given me.
Thank you for hearing my cry.
In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen
